Free printable 1st grade math worksheets (addition) in PDF
Getting kids used to math in school can be difficult, and it’s also hard to find ways to make it fun! In this post, we have free math sheets for 1st graders to use. These can be used if you’re homeschooling and need some help figuring out what they should be learning in 1st grade math. These worksheets focus specifically on addition. However, we have some other resources at the end of this post that highlight other math skills 1st graders should be working on!

Double digit addition
1st graders should also be working on double digit addition. This sheet keeps the complexity of adding numbers with double digits, but with some support for your kid! The numbers are set up in columns to make it easier to visualize. None of the sums go above 100, and there is no carrying of numbers. This is an easy way to introduce kids to adding bigger numbers.

Counting by 10s
Counting items in groups of 10 is a great practice for kids, and adults use it a lot in everyday life! This worksheet helps kids learn this skill by having them circle around groups of 10 squares, and then counting them. You can use objects in your house to practice this same skill.

Counting with number lines
Another skill to learn in elementary school is using number lines to count. (This allows kids to get used to an axis for later work in algebra too!)
