How Many Teams Have Won the FIFA World Cup?
Since the World Cup has been played, there have been 80 different countries participating in the tournament. Of these, 13 have been good (and lucky) enough to make it to the Finals. Of those 13, only eight different countries have won the championship. Argentina won the most recent World Cup held in Qatar in 2022. The World Cup typically takes place in between every Summer Olympics. So, soccer/football is being played at the Paris Olympics in 2024. The next World Cup is in 2026. We should see the total number of countries playing the tournament start to increase with the expansion of teams to 48 in 2026.

I always like to have a printable World Cup Winners list. I just prefer to take notes on a piece of paper instead of electronically for a lot of things. Especially when it comes to watching and tracking sporting events. You can download the winners list in PDF format here. It is free to use and share as you want. If you are reposting it, a reference or citation back is of course appreciated.
