Need a tip for picking a hard hangman word? Our main suggestion is to choose a word or phrase with unusual letters; your opponent will tend to start guessing letters that are used most often, like vowels. For example, a ‘Q’ is much less likely to be guessed than an ‘E’.

This template gives you (Player 1) plenty of space on the right to come up with a multiple-word phrase. It will be easier for the other player to guess common words like “a” or “the”, so finding phrases that limit those words is a goo strategy.

There are also online tools in order to cheat at playing the game. Of course we don’t suggest cheating, but if you have a long string of words in a phrase, you could add a rule that says that a player is able to use such a tool for one word. This would increase the need for the player choosing the words to pick something complicated enough to not be guessed but also not so complicated that there aren’t multiple options for what the word could be.
