Finishing 5th in the Eastern Conference with a 44-29 record last season, the Miami Heat were good, but no one (but Jimmy Butler) expected them to make the run they did in last season’s NBA playoffs.
With Butler instill confidence, the ascension of Bam Adebayo, the grit of Goran Dragic, the development of Duncan Robinson, Kendrick Nunn and Tyler Herro, the Miami Heat played their type of basketball consistently throughout the season, into the bubble and into the NBA Finals where they fell to the Los Angeles Lakers in six games.

The Heat’s first game is against their Florida foes in the Orlando Magic on December 23rd before getting the privilege and recognition of playing the New Orleans Pelicans on Christmas Day.
